Manchester United defender Victor Lindelof allegedly stops thief who ‘stole elderly woman’s purse’ in Sweden


Manchester United defender Victor Lindelof was reportedly an elderly woman’s hero as he caught a thief who ‘stole her bag’ in Sweden.It is has been claimed the Red Devils ace was walking with his wife, Maja, in the city of Vasteras when a man on a bike robbed a woman believed to be in her 90s at around 10.30am on Monday.

Swedish outlet Sportbladet say Lindelof chased the man down and retrieved the purse.He is said to have held the alleged assailant, who is in his mid-30s, until police arrived at the scene five minutes later.A Man United source told the paper: “He ran after the thief and got the bag back without using any violence.“Victor believes he was just doing what anybody would have done in that situation.”’It’s disgusting’ – Darren Bent questions why Raheem Sterling and Harry Maguire are represented differently in the mediaThe man faces charges of aggravated theft and minor drug offences, but was released from custody.Lindelof is currently holidaying in Vasteras, his home town, with his family.The 26-year-old, a £31million arrival from Benfica in 2017, made 47 appearances last season as United finished third in the Premier League and reached the Europa League, FA Cup and Carabao Cup semi-finals.
