Tragedy struck on Wednesday when a student of the Delta State University (DELSU), Abraka, identified simply as Divine was reportedly found dead in a beach popularly known as N100 beach, Abraka, Ethiope East Local Government Area of Delta State.

It was gathered that the incident occurred at the Voustapin Beach, Abraka.

Sources said: “A 200L student in the Department of Chemistry, Delta State University (DELSU), Abraka, Mr Divine on Sunday got drowned in a popular beach in the university community.

“Divine went swimming with his friends till when the sad incidence occurred.

“While catching their fun, they discovered that Divine was nowhere to be found.

“A relative of Divine said that the parents of the deceased have been notified of the incidence.”

When contacted, Police Public Relations Officer (PPRO), DSP Edafe Bright, confirmed the incident.

“It is true. it has just been confirmed that someone died really. But I am yet to get the detail report about the death,” DSP Edafe Bright said.
